Sounds complicated. I don't want to rain on your parade, but having more than one person in a freelance "business" (a business is anything that earns money) is very complicated. You have to work out tax and wages.
I'd suggest starting alone and then getting someone to help you, or share work with some else in a similar situation.

Obama's point was direct. "Others come here from abroad to study in our colleges and universities. But as soon as they obtain advanced degrees, we send them back home to compete against us. It makes no sense."
He needs to get his basics right first. What does he mean that they send them back home to compete against US? 99.99% of them apply for H1Bs in the 20K reserved for students and if that quota gets used up, they even are allowed to get into the regular pool of 65%. With minimal knowledge, Mr. Prez is making big comments...More like a joke :D
You have to remember, he is talking about the present POLICIES, and what your F1 visa expects from you. Not what people may manage to do (by hook and sometimes by crook)

I have 2 Approved I140's.
EB3-I PD oct 10, 2003 - Approved - TSC
EB2-I PD July 6th 2006 - Approved - NSC
I filed my 485 on july 2nd 2007 - TSC
RD July 2 2007
ND Aug 16th 2007.
My 485 is based on the EB3 I140, My lawyer sent a Letter to TSC on June 19 2008 request to interfile/PD recapture, I saw soft LUD on my 485/140/131/765 on june 23 2008 since then we have not recievd any +ve information about it. Now with the release of Sep 08 bulletin, My EB2 date is current by itself without without any interfiling/PD porting.
I have called USCIS couple of times and every time i got the same old reply from them, "The IO will pick up the most favourable PD for your case." The sad thing is that the IO's are not touching the case. What are the options i have, Do you think they will pick up my 485 based on the Eb2 - 140 automatically since it has become current, Or it will still have to go thru the interfiling/PD Porting/PD recapture/140 amendment..../WHATEVER.

Mine was reject due to "missing or incorrect fee" refiled on Oct 12, waiting. Strange part is we dont have any evidence of the original check. That makes it complicated..

When I went for H1B stamping my B1 was cancelled and I was told one can not have more than one visa at the same time.
That is totally wrong on whoever said that to you. One can have B1 and work visas on their passport without any problems and use it based on the nature of the trip. Only conflicting visas will likely be cancelled. Eg would be L1 and H1 at the same time for different employers. The VO could cancel the one that isn't being used.
Either the VO that took your case wasn't well versed with the law or made a mistake.

USCIS local offices no longer issues interim EADs. Go to immigration.com and and bring up July/August 2006 newsletter.
You can schedule infopass & meet a local officer after 90 days. But he will only forward you request to the main center and ask them to either process your case quickly or issue an interim EAD.
But since the main center will be badly backlogged from now on, I wonder how they can even process interim EADs? If they can do it, they may as well do regular EADs?
I recall reading somewhere that with the new scheme, EADs were guranteed to be issued within 90 days and so no interim EADs were produced. But this 90 day limit will change in the next few weeks.

The amount is not the main issue. Awarding of fees by the court means that the court believes that the USCIS had no real legal leg to stand on for delaying the case for 4 years.
What it ultimately goes to show is that such unreasonable delay by the USCIS is plain bureacratic inefficiency and actually makes the bar lower for any future WOM cases.
Also it sets a precedence and anybody who has previously got a favorable WOM decision can go to court to recoup legal fees.
Wondering if this will open a floodgate - I guess the enhanced fees the USCIS is now charging will go towards paying these bills!
All in all this is a severe reprimand of USCIS practices - Hope they wake up!

My wife had Henna on her hand when she went for her FP. The officer asked her did not take her finger prints and asked her to send that letter to their office by mail for re-scheduling the appointment. She sent the letter and got another appointment within 40 days. No problems in the second appearance.
That is stupid .... how does having henna affect fingerprints???

I agree only crying baby gets milk.
But only lucky applicants get green card :). Its not based on eligibility alone.
Now about protests and demonstrations. I dont think it will work in the US for a myriad of reasons.
I think every year about 30K or more people are coming from India
on H1B. I think half of them apply for GC. At least 200K Indian nationals
alone waiting in the line for GC. Why IV has only 5k? We should have atlease 50K members.
A working plan would be get atleast 100K people to our organization and have everybody contribute $100. That would give us $10Million. We can hire top people and companies to get it done. And donate big funds to these politician.
What I told is just a dream. Most of us here are free riders. In my company there are 5 people who are affected. I'm the only who checks regulary this site. I have to tell them again and again and again to send a fax or donate.
So what to do?

Thanks for your reply. I also wasted 2 weeks and finally sent my EAD application on Sat'day on Nebraska service as my state OH falls under it's jurisdiction.
At least, we can say that we followed the uscis instructions if we get any query.
