I can't comment on the HD650 with a macbook pro personally, as I do not exactly have one. Of the few times I've tried it out, it was at a friend's and at local music stores. I'm an audio technica kind of guy, so I tend to stick to their products. I know the lower impedance audio techncia cans sound pretty good on my brother's macbook pro and my iMac via their intel hd integrated card and headphone jack.

It does not resolve even after reboot/hard reboot/restore.
Restore and reboot and hard reboot are all different things. Have you done ALL of them or just the reboots?

To be quite honest, Time Machine leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to error reporting when something goes wrong. I feel your frustration because I had the same problem a few months ago. I've found that looking at the console helps to determine what error occurred and then searching Google to see what the error means, and how to fix it. I think you can find the console in the utilities folder somewhere - can't exactly remember where it is.
My problem with Time Machine was that my disk permissions were screwed up and so it wasn't copying the files nessessary to complete the back up - it would just quit. I would check to see if those were set correctly by going into info and reseting them. Might help.

Did anyone install it already?
I've received it 2 days ago but still have the stealth guard on my iPt which is going to be replaced in a week, so I will put the bse on the replacement-device.
Are those bse for a dry installation? I've received them in an envelope without a solution, just like the stealth guards.

If it is indeed a dead pixel, which it looks to be, Apple most likely will not replace it, considering that only one out of 1,049,088 pixels on the screen is a dud.

The official TRIM support is already in Snow Leopard builds for the new Macbook Pros with SSDs and it's in Lion as well. The official support is only for the Apple's SSDs, no TRIM support for third party SSDs. There is a way to enable it for any SSD that supports TRIM, but it is a hack. Here's the thread: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1125400
Apple are usually conservative about their SSDs, they don't go for the top of the line SSDs. So, it is normal to see conservative speed from Apple's SSDs.
TRIM enabler is a hack, and some people have reported that their read/write speeds have dropped significantly after installing it on their macs. I'm worried that it even does the job, but I am guessing it just changes the kernel so that instead of saying 'No' it says 'Yes' under TRIM support in SERIAL-ATA.

They do look bad, don't they? But is that because we're trained to perceive them that way?
No... I'm pretty sure they just look bad... :p :D

OMG! OMG! OMG! A Blue Ribbon! Yippee! :):):)
Thanks for your votes folks! Congrats to all the winners! There were lots of great entries for this contest and I'm very pleased to have won. As xUKHCx knows, the blue ribbon is what everybody wants!
calderone, great entry. You have mad design skills. What a battle that was! If you ever make a keyboard with that button, sign me up for one.
Great job to all participants
Now let the bragging begin
Congrats you two. Both were worthy winners. Also congratulations for everyone else who won or entered. There were some really good entries this time.
solarthecat unlucky that you were in such a tough category as that was a brilliant idea and design.

Is anyone running Lion on a lower-powered machine? I'd like to hear feedback on those who have tried it on an 11" MBA.
Search this forum, there's some threads about folks running lion on a core duo (not core 2 duo) cpu

With the plastic clips, the springs were required to maintain pressure between the heatsink and the CPU. You don't need the springs if you're using screws and nuts. I used nylon screws and nylon lock nuts. I see temps a few degrees lower than yours while encoding. Remember not to use too much thermal paste.
I've recently installed a 2.33ghz c2d chip in my old 1.66 cd mac mini. The performance boost has been great!
I've noticed temps have gotten a little high while running encodes and such... around low - mid 90s C while handbrake is encoding. I know this is still within operating temperature, but i'd like them to be a little lower.
I managed to keep the plastic clips from breaking while installing my cpu. I've been thinking about replacing the nylon clips with some nylon screws, like others have mentioned.
My question, Do people use the springs that came with the clips when installing the screws? Or do people just screw the heatsink down snug to the cpu without the springs?
Thanks,

they have this service in the UK too but I can't for the life of me remember the number
it's free if they don't recognise the song but 50p if they do identify it
any single part of the song it works with, it's scary
I think it was developed by some professor in Australia - I remember listening to Chris Tarrant's Capital FM breakfast show about 2-3 years ago and he had this website that you could play a song into or even hum/whistle into... obviously someone realised the money making potential!

Skype caused my 13-UMBA CPU temp to rise to 80C, installed Coolbook and now runs about 70-73C. Normal CPU temp at idle is 43C, and 38C with Coolbook (at .92v settings). Interestingly, when I run Skype on my Dell Latitude with an i5-540M processor/4MBram, the CPU only heats up from 50C to 55C. So the Skype temp effect is much greater on the MBA, probably because of the C2D is working harder.

Yes, I am actually doing this on here.
I need to sell my iphone in anticipation of the 3G iPhone. My Phone just came from apple today, and still has a plastic cover on it.
8GB
I live in Los Angeles. Local Sales are preferred, give me some offers.
Its New, but I will post pictures none the less when I can.
I am more than willing to Unlock the phone for use on any network
I'm willing to accept any reasonable offer, but am looking at $350 +
Thanks

I know the external drive HFS/NTFS issue has been posted extensively, but I've encountered a problem that doesn't seem to be addressed in any of the posts.
I have an external 80 gig HD that's been formatted as NTFS by a friend that had a bunch of video files to transfer to my Mac (10.3). I understand that NTFS is read-only on 10.3 and that's the limit of what I'm trying to do. I do not need to write to the volume, only pull this one batch of files off.
When I attach the drive to my Mac, it mounts instantly with no problem. Opening the drive reveals that 59 out of 80 gigs is available, which is about right for the files I know are on there. The strange part is that the drive reads "0 items" and nothing shows up in the drive window.
Can anyone offer thoughts on why the drive would mount properly, show the correct amount of space used, and yet show zero items?

As of firmware 1.1, there is no back light options for the 6th gen yet, perhaps in a future firmware release they will add it.

I am looking for a thin yet robust rubberish/silicon skin for my latest iPod touch 4G. It should have a single black or dark gray color and not not have any pimples or ripples.
Simply put: as unobstrusive and robust as possible.
Also the iPod touch still needs to fit into the apple universal dock.
Wich skin would you suggest?

"Battery life is better" is the new "Safari seems snappier".
These are the ONLY things Apple said about 4.3.3, so what are you people on about?
Reduces the size of the cache
No longer backs the cache up to iTunes
Deletes the cache entirely when Location Services is turned off
