so I opened up my macbook this morning (late 2008 aluminum) and it was at the log in screen which was weird so i logged on and came to discover that when i click on the applications folder in the dock that opens up the grid view, it logs me out. any suggestions?

Does anyone know if Apple will be offering this card separately? I picked up a Quad with the stock 6600 and need to add another card (to run two 30" displays).
Anyone know if the Quad specs allow for two 7800's in a Quad, or only one 7800 and one 6600 or 6800?
What would be the ultimate combination? 7800+6800?

It's certainly not as sleek as before but that's my first impression. Not quite as professional looking and the UI is almost 'overdone'.
Might revert to Tweetie 1.
Maps are nice though.

I think the consensus is that Apple abandoned the idea of building a phone completely from the ground up, which was their original idea. The question is *what* exactly they abandoned. At some level it makes sense for them to use Symbian or some other existing OS in order to get the benefit of 3rd party app availability.
Then again, that rather un-Apple like, since I would think Apple would want to have total control over the interface. Maybe Apple *will* come up with a real-time "OS X Lite" operating system, and the 3rd party apps will have to be Java apps, basically. If Apple makes sure that Java performs well on the iPhone then that would be their best strategy...

educating people as an industry? Who does jobs think he is? Most of the population may be below average to his economical standards... but what the f was that? People know more than he thinks... It is simple for Apple to track anyone on a cellular network and using an iPhone... but it isn't worth the legal risk is it, if the person's' being tracked isn't worth it... but if Apple or anyone really wanted to... there is nothing to stop it with the infrastructure of iOS and cellular networks today...

Most people don't understand the finer points of how their phone works. The vast majority don't care and just want it to work and not do anything nefarious. As phones get smarter, there are only going to be more things that people don't understand - I think he makes a fair point.

Lets face it, Mail on iphone blows when compared to blackberry. There is no security like blackberry has on top of the entirely inadequate mail program.
You can't search well beyond the most recent emails. on a blackberry you can search thousands of recent emails and it just works.
What does this have to do with the price of tea in China? This has nothing to do with TJ Maxx buying ipads. OH, and if you do not like the mail app on the iphone, or ipad, don't buy it, or don't use it. For me it works

Can't say I've had any of those issues. I did have one issue with 4.3, and then with 4.3.1 with crazy battery drain. Turned out to be a hosed up Exchange thing. I deleted the email acct, and recreated it and poof. Battery issue fixed.
Looking forward to the "several enhancements" though. Wonder what those are??? :cool:

I am actually trying to find several Think Different posters for our new Mac Lab at our High School. I don't even mind if they are authentic and would actually prefer something more affordable.
The Think Different posters would add a great touch but would like to find any Apple related posters I could frame and decorate our new lab.

I've a few books on the artist and its amazing how varied his work and how influential he was (like Van Gogh and Whistler). He was prolific and I usually get my desktops with a google image search

Sigh... Another post shot to Hell. I hate when the subtle implied meaning is missed for something far less obvious.
Saying that someone is "seeing through rose-colored glasses" means that they are an optimist, only seeing the good and neglecting to notice the bad. (The opposite type of person, a pessimist, is symbolised by the color grey). (http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_(color))
