From the Transformers 2 Blu Ray, watch the documentaries when Bay is visiting his editors, 4 editors cutting separately, they all had Mac setups with FCP running.
So now I wonder if they used both FCP and Avid. And the quote from the editor is stupid on that link "I don't know anyone doing 200mil movies and not cutting them on media composer". Benjamin Button was cut on FCP and it's a 200mil movie.

It is clear that Apple has been at best disingenuous on the issue, and at worst downright dishonest.
Not only does the data collected fully amount to tracking, but Apple also apparently patented this in 2009 - so to claim it was a 'bug' seems questionable.
Not saying other OSs do better (I don't know), but Apple can't simply say 'others do bad stuff, so that justifies us doing it'. But the dishonesty is the bigger issue.

Who needs a phone with a touch screen? Unless Apple wants to only sell a $500+ phone which most people would not throw down the cash for, this will most likely never happen.
Just imagine what the cost of one of these screens would cost, and how much it would cost to get replaced if it broke.

All I want is a little scale in the corner. Is that too much to ask? It's impossible to figure out how far away things are visually. In the heat of navigation (especially via car) time is of the essence and having to re-calculate the route just to figure out the distance to destination from the current location takes too long.

That isn't entirely true. iPhone 1,1 (and soon iPhone 1,2) users can't run all apps. Anything that requires 4.0 (probably 4.3~5.0 for iPhone 1,2) won't run. Neither will things that require a certain amount of horsepower (say like Infinity Blade).

My first computer had a tape drive. A Commodore Vic 20. I wonder how long a cassette tape needs to be to hold a TB not to mention a PB?
Depends if you use "Turbo Loader" or anything similar or not ... How long would it take to rewind a tape like that?

Any of these possibilities results in a large number of iPads reaching a overstock and close out retailer like TJ Maxx etc...
Its not a big mystery or a great train robbery situation. And the reason they are probably available at limited locations would be a limited supply of an item (Still High Ticket despite the $100.00 Discount) being sold from a store where 95% of their stock is priced in a sub $10.00 per unit price point is going to be directed to markets where they are more likely to sell - Larger Cities, Stores in retail plazas with other high ticket resellers, and cities with a higher tech savvy population like Austin, Seattle, Dallas, Silicon Vally, New York City...
It the chain has more then 10K units to distribute thats when things get pretty unusual...

I'd give blood as often as possible (and did so a few times before I left the UK) but the rules in New Zealand catch me out. Having lived in the UK during the mad cow disease outbreak (aka nvCJD) in the 1980s means they won't take my blood for a long time yet (I've gone to the donation centres and asked them about it twice). Particularly unfortunate since I'm O negative. But if the blood tests get better and they can verify that the disease is nonexistent and not just dormant, then perhaps more of us here will be able to contribute.

I just d/led the newest build from webkit and it is really a great improvement. It is very fast and responsive and is not a memory hog. I encourage you to try it out.
I never been happy with safari. But this newest build, 419.3, suprised me.

For my money, I recently switched to the vPhone from a June 2009 contract with AT&T for the 3GS. I've given up hope that the iPhone 5 will be worth the wait and resigned myself to 20 months with the iPhone 4 until I'm able to pick up the i6 in January 2013, or wait for the i7 (if it's back to June for 2013) depending on the feature set for the i6.
Honestly, finally having a 3G service that actually works, even if it's maybe a little slower (it's hard to compare, really), was well worth it.
